It is a hot summer for Jaune Toujours: a massive series of concerts with quite some important stages in Belgium and in the rest of Europe; Couleur Café (B), Dranouter (B), Cambridge Festival (UK, Womad (UK),... In the Netherlands, where the live album cluB has been released since april together with the stuido album Barricade, things take off equally well. With the necessary echoes in press (on the 2nd of june a live gig at TROS-muziekcafé), Jaune Toujours plays on a.o. Festival Mundial, Oerol and De Parade. Venez Nombreux! 1/3/07 'CluB', Jaune Toujours' new live album, got vast attention in the international press, with undivided enthusiastic reviews (see below) and airplay on radio stations in Germany, the UK, New York, Alaska, the Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, Italy, Czechia, etc. In Belgium, cluB was elected CD of the week in the widely acclaimed programm Club Tropical on Radio 1. 1/3/07 Since the release of the album, reviews appeared in De Morgen, Le Jour, The Guardian (4 stars), The Sunday Times (3 stars), The Independent on Sunday (4 stars), Rif Raf, fROOTS, MazzMusikas, Blue Rhythm, Folker, Jazzcorner, Jazzthetik, Westzeit, Cd-kritik.de, Folkmagazin, Jazzdimensions, etc. Soon also in Id-Magazin, Songlines, The Times, Daily Telegraph, FT, Daily Express and The Fly. Review in the Guardian - Review in the Sunday Times - Review in the Independent on Sunday 2/2/07 Jaune Toujours: European cluB tour. After warming up in Metz in France, Jaune Toujours' European club tour really kicks of this weekend with a concert in club Global in Copenhagen (DK). Afterwards the tour takes the band from London (UK) to a number of German cities, with a pit stop in Delft (NL). In April the band is off to Italy for a week, in order to prepare for the festival season with a southern warmth training period. 1/2/07 Jaune Toujours on television: Those of you living in Barcelona or Czechia can watch Jaune Toujours' video clips on TV. The Czech Music Channel Ocko broadcasts the clips ici BXL, Printemps, Camping del Mundo and the live clips ici BXL, Piu Lontano, Pankatsa (feat. Mec Yek), Quoi and Refugies sans Frontieres in it's world music programme Babylon. The Catalan public Television TVC & BNC features them in the programme Planeta Musica. 26/1/07 Ik & den Theo/Moi & Theo, premiere: concert for small children from 3 up to 7 years. Piet Maris and Theophane Raballand (both Jaune Toujours) create their child friendly universe with an accordion, an unusual drum kit and some, well, stuff they happen to bring along. READ MORE 12/1/07 Radio Transit, refugees with dignity. The enthusiasm for Radio Transit iss still growing. The tracks Kibuyu (Kinch), Evil Men (Charles Blackman) an Refugees sans frontieres (Radio Transit version) made the playlist of the New York based Worldmix Radio. Refugies sans frontieres was aired before on BBC (Andy Kershaw) and the CD was reviewed very positively in the English music magazine fROOTS, with special mentioning the bands Lamp Fall Sarafina, Mec Yek and Samson & Samuel. The album Radio transit was released in Belgium, Germany and the UK and can be bought in digital format from the internet. 5/1/07 The band of accordions sets out for a small tour in the Netherlands in March to take part in the accordion festival Accordeonslag. The next workshop is on 25/2, Salle Moliere, Brussels. 7/10/06, Release concert live album cluB by Jaune Toujours for Belgium on Solidart Festival, Brussels: three and a half albums later (O, Brusk, Camping del Mundo and Barricade), Jaune Toujours hits again with the live recording of two raving concerts in the Ancienne Belgique Club (Brussels): 18 songs + a bonus DVD with 3 clips and 5 visuals from the show (in stereo and dolby 5.1.). 2/10/06, live album cluB by Jaune Toujours in the Belgian record shops: cluB is now officially released and available in record shops. Distribution by Broken Silence (GAS-countries). 23/9/06, Release concert live album cluB by Jaune Toujours for the GAS-countries in Malzhaus, Plauen (Germany): three and a half albums later (O, Brusk, Camping del Mundo and Barricade), Jaune Toujours hits again with the live recording of two raving concerts in the Ancienne Belgique Club (Brussels). 1/9/06, last concert of the full Jaune Toujours Radio Transit Project, at Zuiderpershuis, Antwerpen: look out for the literary theatre tour, with a selection of the radio Transit musicians 12/8/06, Jaune Toujours concert on Hiesige und Dosige Festival Wieselburg (Austria) cancelled, due to the bomb alarm on London Heathrow: at 11:30pm the evening before Jaune Toujours has to take a flight at 7:30am from London Heathrow to play at the festival in Wieselburg, their flight is being cancelled for safety measures, with no possibillity of rescheduling - or how the liberty of many can easily be undermined by the extremist narrowmindedness of a few. 10-13/8/06, Arabanda goes UK: supporting the release of their album SHAMS in the UK, Arabanda is playing concerts for Chili Fried at the London Darbucka, the festival Watch This Space at the National Theatre and the festival Half the World at Live on the Park. The latter concert being an Arabanda in the first set and a Jaune Toujours in the second. 21/7/06, Jaune Toujours at Blue Note Records Festival, Gent: Jaune Toujours opens on the Belgian national holiday, as support for a.o. Tony Allen and Cesaria Evora. The concert is recorded by VRT radio 1 and will be broadcasted in the summer of 2007. 17/7/06, La Nouvelle Harmonie Bruxelloise d Accordeons on stage at Bollene Festival (France) - a double premiere: first time that La Nouvelle Harmonie Bruxelloise d Accordeons appears in France, and first time with a full show on stage as well! in a mise-en-scene by Sarah Baur and costumes by Ethic Wear (Marie Cabanac). 8/7/06, Jaune Toujours & Gangbe Brass Band at Brossela Festival, Brussels: playing a carte blanche proposed by the Brussels Brossela Festival at the occasion of its 30th anniversary, Jaune Toujours has been working together with the Gangbe Brass Band (Benin). Result: a groovy mix of afrobeat, jazz, balkan, punky attitude and social commitment. In premiere at the Brossela Festival (Brussels, Belgium).
