Nouvelle Harmonie Bruxelloise d'Accordéons

The Harmonie d'Accordéons de Bruxelles was founded in 1912. Ninety years later, in 2002, Piet Maris, his pupils and a few others created a new band of accordions.

After a few final rehearsals, they played in full force (with 33 participants at that moment) for the first time on the occasion of the Zinneke Parade, in Brussels.

After that you might have spotted them at several other Zinneke Parades, Car Free Sundays, Street Parties and Festival Happenings.

Part of the Nouvelle Harmonie Bruxelloise d'Accordéons played on the recording of Più Lontano on the album Barricade by Jaune Toujours. As a result of that, they were invited to play with Jaune Toujours at some of their concerts: at the Halles de Schaerbeek in Brussels, at the Airbag Festival in Bruges, at the Opening Week of the new KVS in Brussels, and with the live recordings of Jaune Toujours at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels.

The Nouvelle Harmonie Bruxelloise d'Accordéons not only plays festivals in Belgium, but also plays abroad, like Bollène in France, on tour for the festival Accordeonslag in the Netherlands, at the children music festival Happy Day in the Lille Opera House, and at the accordion festival Printemps des Bretelles in Illkrich,...

On the program: typical accordion repertoire, thoroughly revisited with a pretty dynamic touch – tango, waltzes, bourrées, Balkan stuff, ska and more…
