Lyrics with a message should be cried out in these times but Jaune Toujours does it the other way. Just like Mano Negra or Les Negresses Vertes they turn them into a potpourri, throwing a party

Saïd Al-Haddad from Bruzz (Brussels media) paid the Choux de Bruxelles office a visit.
He walked in on Piet constructing the new Jaune Toujours decor and had a talk about the new album and the preparations for the Europeana release concert in the legendary Ancienne Belgique on the 4th of October.

Europeana - 3-sterren review door Peter Vantyghem in De Standaard

Na meer dan twintig jaar klinkt de band nog fris, guitig, geëngageerd en ongepolijst

Peter Vantyghem in De Standaard van vorige woensdag:

"Weinig Belgische bands leggen zo’n consequent parcours af als Jaune Toujours. Na meer dan twintig jaar klinkt de band nog fris, guitig, geëngageerd en ongepolijst. Europeana verwijst zowel naar de politieke actualiteit als naar de muziek: zoals er americana is, maakt deze band Europeana, een mix van traditionele muziekjes en nieuwe invloeden. (…)"

Over zijn opbouwende kritiek op het einde van de recensie moeten we het eens bij een pintje hebben, want daar zien wij de oorzaken eerder in het muzieklandschap (lees: hoe de industrie zich organiseert) dan in de kwaliteit van de muziek. Denk maar aan alle muziek waar je je aan doodergert, maar die toch de mainstream haalt.

Belangrijker is dat we al enkele jaren op de geïnteresseerde aandacht van Peter Vantyghem mogen rekenen, waarvoor oprechte dank.
